Extending the shoreline in Belmont, Westmoreland
Title
Extending the shoreline in Belmont, Westmoreland
Description
"Extending the shoreline: this area of shoreline in Belmont, Westmoreland, has been dumped with marl by the Ministry of Works, in an effort to preserve the Belmont Beach and prevent damage to the roads along the coastline. The next stage in the preservation process will be the construction of groynes into the sea. The function of the groynes, which are finger like projections into the sea, is to trap sand and so even further extend the shoreline."
