The great house on the old Bluefields sugar estate in Westmoreland. There is a cannon in the front yard near the staircase.
The Bluefields Great House, occupied by naturalist Philip Henry Gosse for a period of eighteen months between 1844 to 1845, while carrying out his research on Westmoreland. It was once a sugar estate.
This 18th century Georgian house has been captioned as "Springvale" in Trelawny. The entire plantation stretches from western St James into eastern Trelawny.
