  • Born February 6, 1905 in the district of Sharon, St. Elizabeth
  • Youngest of nine children
  • Parents Solomon Isaac Marson and Ada Marson
  • Attended Sharon Baptist Church where her father was the Minister
  • Received Free foundationers academic scholarship in 1915 to Hampton School

  • She became involved with social work and began her first job at the Orange Street based Salvation Army. She visited prisons, probationers and women in need
  • A year after leaving the Salvation Army she began working with the newly established Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), on Hanover Street in Kingston, 1923
