1905 - 1915
- Born February 6, 1905 in the district of Sharon, St. Elizabeth
- Youngest of nine children
- Parents Solomon Isaac Marson and Ada Marson
- Attended Sharon Baptist Church where her father was the Minister
- Received Free foundationers academic scholarship in 1915 to Hampton School
- She became involved with social work and began her first job at the Orange Street based Salvation Army. She visited prisons, probationers and women in need
- A year after leaving the Salvation Army she began working with the newly established Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), on Hanover Street in Kingston, 1923
- She had her theatrical debut while at YMCA where she organized a fundraiser; a dramatization of H.G. deLisser's novel Susan Proudleigh
