New Leyland National

"One of seventeen new Leyland Nationals which have arrived from England in the past four weeks to join the Jamaica Omnibus Service's fleet, being unloaded from the M.V. Naturalist, at Western Terminals, Newport West, last week. A total of eight Leyland Nationals arrived last week - four on the Naturalist and four on the Dalesman. The buses are part of an order for 60 units which were expected to arrive between June to October of this year. Thirty of the new units will replace others withdrawn from service. The remaining units will results in a net gain that will increase the JOS fleet to approximately 485 buses and, according to a JOS spokesman, 'improve service to commuters.'"
