Jamaica Railway Corporation trains halted by strike

"Some of the Jamaica Railway Corporation's trains halted by strike. A section of the workforce is seeking to be represented by the Dockers and Marine Workers Union [DMWU], but the current representatives are the BITU and the NWU who have claimed no part in the stoppage. The trains have been idle since Thursday, with no indication of a resumption date. The BITU and NWU yesterday they do not agree to hearing bargaining rights with any union which adopts such 'irregular methods'. The DMWU write the Minister of Labour yesterday that some JRC workers had revoked their membership from the union now holding bargaining rights."
