"Some way to begin and end Christmas: This car which ended in the gully course off the Red Hills Road near Cassia Park Road used to be a Cortina until it plunged some twenty feet down and almost completely dismantled itself. When the Daily News photographer happened on the spot yesterday the license disc was among the very minor parts which could not be located, and major portions were strewn over the gully course. But then, Christmas being a time for miracles, the two passengers escaped with injuries - according to the eyewitnesses atop the bridge."
