"Flood relief: The YMCA Headquarters, 21 Hope Road, has been used at the request of the Jamaica Council of Churches as one of the special sorting depots for contributions by way of clothing, food and cash which have been taken or sent to the YMCA since this special project was organised on Friday morning last, and gifts are still coming in. Gifts of clothing have been assorted by the voluntary helpers at the YMCA before they were passed on to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army for distribution to those at the temporary shelter at the National Stadium and Cockburn gardens. Above YMCA members sorting and classifying for the needy in the Lounge at the YMCA."
