Doctor's Cave Bath Club, Montego Bay
Title
Doctor's Cave Bath Club, Montego Bay
Description
A scene at the Doctor's Cave Bath Club in Montego Bay, St. James. In 1906, Dr. Alexander James McCatty, M. D. donated his beachfront property in Montego Bay for the founding of a bathing club. Along with Dr. McCatty, a number of doctors of the area used the beach as a rejuvenating spa. This is an example of a linen postcard. They were constructed from a textured paper with a cross-patterned surface that resembled linen fabric. Linen postcards were published between the late 1920s and 1950s.
