"Three weeks ago 11 bus passengers were killed when a bauxite train crashed into a bus at this railway crossing at Parnassus in Clarendon. Other than the railway crossing signs, there was no device to ensure that road traffic slows down when approaching the crossing and after the crash Prime Minister Seaga announced that it would be necessary to build ridges or sleeping policemen to ensure that motorists slow down when approaching the crossing.
He also said a Departmental Enquiry was taking place to determine whether a public enquiry would be required. That was three weeks ago and up to yesterday when the Daily News revisited the scene of 11 deaths, there was no sign any steps had been taken to make the Parnassus crossing safer. Nothing has been heard of the Enquiry either."
