"Rehearsals are in full swing for the Eddy Thomas Dancers on their series which opens July 16 to 19 at the Little Theatre. Since their return from a successful Miami Concert for the Jamaica Tourist Board, the daily work-outs have been intensified.
The concerts this season will consist mainly of new works with one revival "Time to Rejoice" first performed by the NDTC in 1962. Eddy has done two dances, "Motherless Child," a solo which will be danced alternately by Tony Taylor and Hommer McGanne, and "Summer Nights", an abstract number for the full company. Jackie Guy, who teaches and choreographs for the company is doing two works: "Profiles" and "Ceremonies", a fertility rite. Most of the music will be live and handled by Michael McFarlain and David Garris, Pat Lewis and Desmond Jones.
