"Mr. George Phillip, chairman of the Apprenticeship Board expresses thanks from the Board to the four major trade unions, the BITU, NWU, TUC and JALGO, who, through the Joint Trade Unions Research Development Centre presented a challenge trophy for competition among registered apprentices in the national apprenticeship programme. Associated with the presentation from left: Councillor Everold Williams, mayor of Spanish Town, who is one of two trade union representatives on the Apprenticeship Board; Mr. Edward E. Dixon, executive director of the Centre; Mr. Hopeton Caen, one of the directors of the JTRRDC and Mr. Easton Dorman who was present to receive another trophy on behalf of the workers of the Great Salt Pond Farm of Abernard Lodge Estate, winners of the Joint Trade Unions Sugar Productivity award."
