"Well done Wendy! Nine year old Wendy Phipps, a student at the Mona Rehabilitation Centre being presented with a medal for training hard for the incontested 40 metre race, in the recent International Year for Disabled Persons [IYDP] Sports Week, by Mrs. Yvonne Cross, Marketing Officer of Scotiabank, donors of the Sports Week medals. The week's activities marked the first time in Jamaica that all categories of disabled persons - blind, mentally retarded, deaf and physically disabled at all levels - participated together in competitive sport. The medals, attractive mahoe disks decorated with the IYDP logo and the Scotiabank logo were designed and produced in the Mona Rehabilitation Centre."
