"To the defense: Local Government Minister Rose Leon seen at a Press Conference Wednesday defending the Government's $32-million Special Works programme. With her are Mayor Ralph Brown and Town Clerk Basil Daniels (right). Yesterday's Daily News story incorrectly mentioned an additional $11.2 million being put into the programme. In fact the $11.2 million is the previously announced amount that is being spent in the Corporate area's clean-up programme. The sum, added to the approximately $21-million being spend in some 27 different employment projects throughout the island, brings the total sum being spent on special employment programmes to $32-million."
