Collision on Oxford Road

"Police were unable yesterday to give details of the condition of the occupants of this motor car the roof of which was ripped off in a collision on Oxford Road Sunday night. The accident occurred at a point near to a large mound of earth around an excavation near the western end of Oxford road. The mound has been there for several days and nights. There was no evidence in view at the time the picture was taken that there were any warning lights there or that signs had been put up far enough from the hazard to warn road-users in time of the danger."
