Minister of Public Service Pearnel Charles makes first call on ISD

"Making first call: Minister of Public Utilities and Transport Pearnel Charles, making the first call on Caribbean International Subscriber Dialling [ISD] on Friday, at the Jamaica Telephone Company's headquarters on Halfway Tree Road. Mr. Charles poke to Mr. A. Thomas, a Director of the West Indies Shipping Company in Trinidad and Tobago. The call was made in the presence of officials of both the Telephone Company and JAMINTEL."
