Title

Washington Boulevard and Duhaney Drive crash

Description

"One more time: these two car collided at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Duhaney Drive, on Christmas night. The two cars were extensively damaged, but the names of the occupants of the cars and the extent of personal damage could nor be ascertained.

This spot on the Boulevard has been the scene of many accidents during the past ten years, and many people have been killed at this same spot in repeated incidents.

With the exception of Molynes Road, every other intersection with the Boulevard is a dark, dismal risk to the motorist who has to use them. The Washington Boulevard is one of the darkest roads in the Corporate Area, and certainly the most poorly lit main road in Kingston and St. Andrew. The only lights available on this road are those of oncoming vehicles most of which serve to blind the other users of this death trap.

Certainly the volume of traffic that travels this road observes more consideration, and if the lives of countless cows; donkeys, dogs and cats mean nothing to the authorities, they should probably give some thoughts to the lives of fellow human beings who have to use this road."
