"William Baker of White-Horses District in St. Thomas sustained multiple injuries and was admitted at Princess Margaret Hospital when this Ministry of Health jeep he was driving crashed into a Humber Sceptre motor car owned and driven by Phillip Duncan of 20 Kings House Avenue, Kingston 6 and ended up neatly parked in the Yallahs Pond some 250 feet from where the impact took place, Sunday August 3, at about 10:30pm. The Humber car then crashed into a telegraph pole breaking it and disrupting service from Kingston. The impact unlocked the car door causing Joseph Heholt driver of the car to fall out and a section of the pole fell on him. Another piece fell on top of the car. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. The injured were treated at the Princess Margaret Hospital and sent home."
