Connolly parchment, of Spur Tree Road near Mandeville, died on the way to Mandeville hospital yesterday after his car (top photo) collided head-on with a truck.
The accident happened at Toll Gate during an overtaking. His four passengers are still in Mandeville Hospital. Truck driver, Harold Smith of Norman Terrace, Windward Road, Kingston, said he was driving towards Kingston. "I didn't have time to do anything," he said. "I just heard a bang and my trailer tore away from the truck and came past me."
Still in hospital are Joan Ward, of Grove place, Mile Gully, Manchester; Trevor Campbell, of Somerset Avenue, Kingston; Winston Peart, of Cedar Gardens, Mandeville; and Sylvester Simpson, of Bermuda Road, Mandeville."
