"Death crash: the body of a truck sideman identified so far only as 'Welsh' lies inside the back of the ice truck he was travelling in (top photo) when the truck became involved in a collision with this JOS bus at the intersection of Lyndhurst Road and Rosseau Road yesterday. A Volkswagen and a bicycle were also involved in the accident. Welsh died on the spot when several blocks of ice fell on him. The accident occurred at about 11:45 am yesterday. Bus driver Roderick Daley of 11 Morrison Avenue, Kingston 11, was travelling easterly along Rosseau Road, while the truck owned by Kingston Ice Company and driven by George Smith, 43, of 22 Fifth Street, Kingston 12, was going north along Lyndhurst Road. Daley was admitted to hospital. Eight other people were injured. Cross Roads Police are investigating the accident."
