Title

Public Passenger Transport Board

Description

"Cabinet maker Eric Woodburne (left) of a Kingston 11 address making his submissions before the Public Passenger Transport (Corporate Area) Board of Control yesterday as the Board heard from members of the public with regard to the application by the JOS for a fare increase. Making notes from left are members of the JOS team, Traffic Manager Bill Baron, Secretary Fred Burrows and Managing Director Hugh Bonnick. Mr.Woodburne and L.A. Porter of Duhaney Park, were the only two people who responded to the board's advertisements and made their objections as to why the JOS should not get an increase. Mr. Woodbourne said yesterday he could not see where the company was entitled to a 100 per cent increase but added that he would pay a little more if better service was provided. Mr. Porter called for better service first. Others present were board chairman Edgar Jones, Legal Advisor Lloyd Ellis, Members Alvin Bennett, Frank Gordon and Anthony Alberga and Chief Inspector Albert Taylor."
