"Kingston's mayor Algon Samuels (right) launching the annual Christmas kettle drive beside the Barclay's Bank on King Street yesterday. In launching the drive, the Mayor expressed the hope that it would be given strong support so that the less fortunate could be made happy during the Christmas season. The campaign is an annual one to aid the less fortunate with particular emphasis on children. With the Mayor from left are members of the Salvation Army Brigadier Ruth Lemonte and Colonel Walter Morris."
