"Receiving books for children: Mrs. Beverley Manley [3rd left] looking at a 16-page book of children's poetry, 'Through a Child's Eye'. The book was one of a collection presented to her at Jamaica House yesterday [March 19] by Mrs. Pat Persaud [second left] author of the book and teacher at St. Peter and Paul School. Edited by Mrs. Norma Thompson [extreme left] also a teacher at the St. Peter and Paul School, the book's poems describe animals and plants in Jamaica with which every Jamaican child is familiar. The books which were printed in November, last year are available at bookstores islandwide. Proceeds from the sale of the first 500 were donated to International Year of the Child Activities, last year. Extreme right is Miss Cecile Johnson, Co-ordinator of the National IYC Committee."
