"Bloodied but alive - JOS mechanics Alphonso Hamilton and Edson Simms were two lucky men on Saturday. They were underneath JOS bus on Half Way Tree Road effecting repairs when a bus owned by Mr. V. Wedderburn of 14 Hunts Bay Road, Kingston 11 and which plies between Kingston and Spanish Town crashed into the back of the parked bus propelling it over 82 feet with the two men underneath. They suffered cuts to their heads and faces and were treated at the Medical Associates Hospital and sent home. A 13-year old boy Fitzroy Watkins who was riding on the steps of the Spanish Town bus was pinned between the two buses and is now a patient in the Kingston Public Hospital with cuts and a fractured left leg."
