St. Ann's Bay Hospital

"SMILES OF APPRECIATION: The Matron of the Alexandria Hospital, Mrs. Hilda Moulton, receiving a portion of a cheque for $1,600 from Mr. Norman Reid, an employee of Kaiser Bauxite Company presented on behalf of his colleagues, recently. A similar presentation was made to the Matron of the St. Ann's Bay Hospital, Mrs. E.J. Roper, by Mr. Albert Turner, another employee. The cheque proceeds of a concert put on by employees of the Company recently, will be used to improve facilities at both hospitals. The idea for the fund-raising concert was conceived following a series of talent parades staged by employees of Kaiser late last year, as part of their cultural development. So successful was this series that a number of employees came up with the idea of putting on a fund-raising concert for the hospitals. Alexandria Hospital is in the heart of the Company's mining area, and St. Ann's Bay is the other hospital in the parish. Others in picture from left are are Mrs. G.M.
