Sabina Park - work in the stands

"On the job: Work continues at Sabina Park where the Jamaica Cricket Board of Control is carrying on a stop gap operation in preparation for the visit of the Indian Test cricketers who will begin the Jamaica leg of their West Indies tour on Thursday, April 15 with a four-day match against Jamaica. The Test match will begin on Wednesday, April 21. Picture shows workman at his duty patching up the South-Western stand. Work was being done on the box seats area and to the floor. The operation began some weeks ago on the grandstand where a section of the roof was replaced. There is a long way to go and at present the southeastern bleacher, covered with weed, is still untouched. Work is expected to begin there in January. Jamaica's two home Shell Shield matches will again be played at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay this year. The matches were removed from Sabina Park last year to facilitate the start of the gigantic project aimed at improving the facilities for spectators."
