"Christmas is here and the Municipal Christmas Tree which was lit on Monday evening testifies to this. The lights to the tree were turned on by the wife of Kingston Mayor Ralph Brown. Guest speaker at the ceremony was at the Rt. Rev Herbert Edmondson and musical items were presented by a massed choir and the Jamaica Military Band."
