JAMAL fundraising raffle: The drawing of the 1980 JAMAL T.V. Raffle took place on Thursday, June 5 at JAMAL Head Office, South Camp Road. The winners were: 1st prize, Krishna Kissoon one 20" Phillips T.V. donated by Homelectrix Ltd. [ticket no. 6745], 2nd prize Nadine Gordon, a Phillips record player also donated by Homelectrix Ltd. [ticket no. 2408], 3rd prize, Jim Nelson one AM/FM radio, donated by Manhattan Wholesale Distributors [[ticket no. 0046], 4th prize, L.B. Mornan, one set bed linen donated by Broadway Distributors Ltd. [ticket no. 3053], 5th prize, Melanie Owen, one pair silver bangles donated by Sujanani Brothers [ticket no. 6348], 6th prize, Flo Chambers, one 15lb ham donated by Apollo Packers Ltd. [ticket no. 5427] and 7th prize A.A. Vassel, one case dishwashing liquid donated by Micron Industries Ltd. [ticket no. 1782]. Picture shows Mr. Herman Fennell [left] Managing Director of Homelectrix Ltd. handing the ticket for the 1st prize to Mr. Donald Stiebel, Vice-Chairman of the JAMAL Fund Raising Advisory Committee. Miss Barbara Quan Yat Coune a visitor from the Republic of the Seychells in Jamaica to study the islands Literacy Programme, is independent observer."
