National Assembly of People's Power
Title
National Assembly of People's Power
Description
"President of the Councils of State and of Minister Fidel Castro condemned the betrayal of the Chinese Government and warned that Cuba could not be bought or forced to yield, in his speech at the solemn session of the National Assembly of People's Power, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.
Fidel emphasized that the Government of the United States should suspend its blockade against Cuba and abandon its vulgar strategy, instead of preaching rhetoric about human rights. The assembly session proclaimed to the world the principles which guide Cuba's foreign policy of defending the forces of progress and socialism.
Havana's spacious ''Karl Marx'' Theatre housed the delegates, Cuban leaders and guests invited from all over the world to attend the twentieth anniversary festivities.
