"Some of the over 100 children who attended a two-week summer programme put on by the Discovery Bay Branch Library, line up for ice cream courtesy of the Kaiser Bauxite Company, on the closing day of the programme. The programme which was declared open by Kaiser's Public Relations Manager, Lance Neita, included games, art and craft, story telling, lifesaving demonstrated and visits to historic sites. At left in picture is Miss Selna Samuels, clerical assistant at the Library and Con Pink, supervisor of Public and Community Relations."
