"Despite not winning the men's Brandon Trophy Tennis title at the Commonwealth Caribbean Lawn Tennis Championships, Jamaica was however in the field of honour by retaining the Phillips Trophy with captain Linda Sarnia, Lisa Yap Sam and Melinda Thatham defeating Bahamas 4-1 in the final. Members of both teams arrived yesterday at the Norman Manley Airport and in photo from left is manager C. Lloyd Allen, Compton Russell, Melinda Thatham, Linda Sarnia and Stewart Sarnia. Absent were Dennis Davis and Errol Campbell who arrived in the island some time last week and Yap Sam who went straight from the Bahamas to her school in Miami."
