Jamaican-manufactured tanks at Kaiser
Title
Jamaican-manufactured tanks at Kaiser
Description
"Jamaican-manufactured tanks to collect dust particles generated in the refining of Jamaican bauxite are now being installed at Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation's Gramercy, Louisiana, alumina refining plant. The units, part of an $8 million air-control programme at Gramercy, are fed by duct-vented fans inside the plant. They were made by Kingston Industrial Construction Works, Kingston, Jamaica, the most competitive bidder on the contract. The tanks were loaded from Kaiser Bauxite's pier in Discovery Bay, and the shipment was coordinated by Kaiser's Construction Superintendent, Frank Weston and W.E. McKoy of K.I.C."
