"The homeless couple: Charlton Mitchell, 30, and his common-law-wife Yvonne Grant, 19, with their 20-month-old son, Cleveland. They lost their two-apartment timber house during the September 18 downpour when the raging Pen Gully overflowed its banks and swept the house away after uprooting everything in its path, Mitchell, a dread, standing where their house once stood, points to the spot where the kitchen and his backyard garden were. Some of the yam vines may be seen on the trees in the background."
