"Picking their way: Yesterday afternoon was one of the few occasions since last week on which Cleveland Butler and members of his household have left their home. The entrance to the yard in the Little Lane area of Central Village had been under many feet of water as the gully carrying wasted water from the nearby Spaulding Gardens Housing Scheme overflowed. Here Mr. Butler carries his four-year old daughter, June, followed by sons Clovis, 8, and John, 12. Mr. Butler, who is on leave from his job as warehouse clerk at Western Terminals, said he had not been able to drive out his car since last week. He is one of the many residents of the area who are appealing to St. Catherine Parish Council to come to their assistance."
