Sun Enterprise passenger bus crash

"Sunday mishap: Misfortune struck this Sun Enterprise passenger bus while on its way from Portmore, St. Catherine to Cross Roads, St. Andrew near 9:30 yesterday morning. One eyewitness told the Daily News that driver Conroy Miller [back to camera, at right] swerved to avoid an oncoming motorcar. The end result was that the bus crashed into a utility [telephone] pole. Luckily only a couple of the dozen or so passengers were slightly injured or shaken up. News photographer, Herbert Hewett, had to be treated at hospital for a cut to the left foot after he was thrown from his seat onto the back of another seat. One woman received cuts to her mouth."
