Title

Flexible farm door system

Description

"The new flexible farm door system lets light through and swings feely to allow the passage of people, farm animals and machinery, falling back into place to provide an effective barrier to weather, birds and pests. The Yieldor is pictured during trials at the University of Nottingham, where it proved impervious to damage from biting and chewing by the pigs and significantly improved their environment throughout several months of extreme weather conditions. The system - manufactured by Newman Industrial Controls Limited - consists of overlapping 12 in (300mm) wide extruded plastic strips suspended from pivots and curved in section to ensure a good seal. The strips provide a flexible and transparent means of closing all types of entrances on farms and has proved durable under working conditions. The Yieldor is ideal for milking parlours, keeping out draughts and providing an automatic exit door for the cows. It acts as an effective barrier to sheep who will pass through the strips only if actively herded and is also being used on calf rearing yards, grain-stores and machinery sheds. Yieldor can be supplied in standard packs suitable for various sizes of openings or as bulk strip for large cladding operations."
