(KPH) Kingston Public Hospital
Title
(KPH) Kingston Public Hospital
Description
"Gate or no gate: They'll always be walking here. Or so it seemed yesterday afternoon, when the Daily News happened on the scene at the Kinston Public and Victoria Jubilee Hospitals. Some years ago, a decision was taken to close off sections of North Street to avoid unnecessary traffic in the precincts of the hospitals. A gate was put up and was being manned by a guard. Some time later, the gate was damaged by thugs who cut out portions of the mesh-wire. Hospital authorities told the News that last week the gate was repaired and two padlocks put on. However, over the weekend the locks were wrenched off and part of the gate broken. The schoolgirls caught by our photographer, were on their way from the St. Anne's Secondary School for a function to benefit patients at Victoria Jubilee."
