"Hospital equipment valued at about $30,000 was presented to the Jamaican Government yesterday by the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew.
The equipment was secured in Canada by the Club. Parliamentary Secretary Anthony Capleton (right) received the gifts on behalf of the Government from Ryland Grant (left), President of the Club and Douglas Fflolkes, Immediate Past President.
Mr. Capleton expressed Government's appreciation for the gift and commended the Kiwanians for their public spiritedness.
Mr. Grant said that the supply consisted of hospital beds, an operating table, a suction injection unit, night tables, temperature tubes and disposable syringes.
The goods were shipped through Great Lakes Transcaribbean Lines and arrangements were made by the Jamaica High Commission in Canada."
