Description

"ALL SET: Yesterday at the Liguanea Club, New Kingston, C. Lloyd Allen Jnr., chairman of the Institute of Sports, and a man who has spoken fondly of young Wayne Burrowes' achievements, presented the lad with two tickets which will take him to the World Squash Championships later this month. Both his parents Mrs. Beverley Burrowes and Tony Burrowes, marketing manger of J. Wray and Nephew Limited, hoped that their son perform well. "He will need the exposure," his dad said. Ronnie Nasralla, an executive of the local association remarked that young Burrowes has the making of a champion and this experience will help him towards his goals. Burrowes, who is the youngest Carreras Award Nominee, promised to do well. "I feel quite proud and I hope to do well. I also want to thank the many people who have helped me along the way."
