"Fire on Christmas Day left damage estimated at $50,000 to a seven-apartment house at 34 Sandhurt Crescent in St. Andrew...Owner Iris Edwards who occupied the house was away from home when the fire started...The house was partially insured. Three large jets were used by the firemen who were led by Half Way-Tree's District Officer H. Bimmer and York Park's Assistant Superintendent, L. Cooke."
