"Denroy Lindsay at Kingston 13 receives his $100 cheque from Daily News Sales Rep. Amy Bennett for being the first winner of the Daily News Top O' the Round Cricket Competition. Mr. Lindsay selected Kensington and West Indies Opener, Basil Williams as the Outstanding Batsman of the opening round in the Senior Cup Competition, and his forcast of 101 runs was closest to the actual score of 93 runs by Williams against Jamaica Defence Force. Dwight Hall of St. Ann's Bay was the only entrant to select Melbourne's Youth bowler, Courtney Walsh whose figures of 7 for 53, against Police was Top O' the Round."
