"The Morant Bay Methodist Church Youth Band which was formed 2 1/4 years ago through the instrumentality of the Church pastor Rev. Lindley Rankine to keep the youths of the capital off the streets doing unproductive things and keep them occupied. The Band is not only doing pretty well by fitting in various engagements in and out of the parish, but has plans to do its own recording.
15-year old Seaforth Secondary School student Jeremy George at the mike with "I believe" thrilled his audience at Rudolph Elder Park in Morant Bay band stand on Sunday at an Ecumenical Service to mark the beginning of the Nation's 15th Independence celebration. The group will be holding a fund-raising concert at Bakers Hall in Morant Bay on Friday to assist them to purchase their recording equipment and other instruments for the band."
