"Vendors arcade - well on the way! - The days of those semi-permanent vendors stalls along King Street are numbered! This is the Vendors Arcade now being constructed at the corner of Laws and Church Streets, at which all present King Street Vendors will be located, come mid August. Vendors will receive stalls at a minimum weekly rental, which affords sanitary airy premises for the sale of their goods. Final arrangements for the use of the Arcade are being made in joint consultation with the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, the KSAC and the Ministry of Local Government, Alva Ross is determined that the Arcade will be the means through which King Street and its environs will in the near future, become 'clean as a whistle'."
