Description
Print of Ballard Beckford, proprietor of the Whitehall and Frontier estates. He was also the eldest son of Thomas Beckford and was appointed the first Provincial Grand Master of Freemasons in Jamaica in 1742. In the portrait, Ballard is seated on a chair with his legs crossed and book in hand. A robe and feathered hat are on the table beside him and a masquerade mask is on the floor.
