Mixed species twin calves
Title
Mixed species twin calves
Description
"Australian medical researchers have produced mixed-species twin calves by transplanting the embryo of a Frisian calf into the uterus of a Brahman cow, which carried the foreign offspring together with a normal fetus of her own. The leader of the research team, Professor Bede Morris of the Department of Immunology in the John Curtin School of Medical Research at the Australian National University, Canberra, said he believed the calves were first mixed-species twins to be born anywhere in the world. Picture shows Fresian and Brahman calves born to the same Brahman mother."
