Title

Morant Bay Market

Description

"Making a livelihood from the sea: For the last six years four young men have been earning their livelihood from the sea, to which they turned because of the lack of job opportunities in Morant Bay. As the photograph shows, they are making a good job of fishing from the sea. When the picture was taken, the young fishers were in the Morant Bay Market disposing of their day's catch which, although it included two turtles each weighing more than 300 lbs., was their smallest haul in recent months. Fish attracts a price of $2.50 a pound in the town."
