Mozambique National Troupe of song and dance

"A scene from "Mapiko", a secret dance from the northern section of Mozambique. Centre, in mask, is the main dancer representing the evil spirits from the forest where the dance used to be performed. During the struggle for liberation the character of the dance was changed and it is now one of joy and social criticism, this was one of the dance performed by the Mozambique National Troupe of Song and Dance at the National Arena last Friday in a special show for school children."
