Partnership between Reynolds Metals Company and Reynolds Jamaica Mines

"On February 1 the instruments bringing into reality the partnership between Reynolds Metals Company and Reynolds Jamaica Mines on the one hand, and the Government of Jamaica on the other, were signed. The partnership gives the Jamaica Government 51 per cent share in the companies' Jamaican mining operations and all its agriculture operations. All lands not now being mined by the Company also come under local ownership and control. In the photograph the Secretary of the newly formed Executive Committee, Don Phillips, affixes his signature to the documents. The Executive Committee comprises four representatives from Reynolds and four Jamaican representatives. The Jamaicans are Roy Anderson, Chairman [extreme left], Sandra Shirley [4th from left] Parris Lyew-Ayee and a worker representative to be elected by the employees."
