Title

Lampshades for export - Island Lighting Ltd

Description

"Lampshades for export: A contract for the delivery of approximately US$100,000 worth of handmade silk lampshades for delivery over the next 12 months was signed recently by Ewart P. Russell, chairman of Island Lighting Ltd. (centre). The contract was co-signed following negotiations at the Terra Nova Hotel by Jorge Gonzales (left) vice-president of Palladin Lampshade Corporation and by Dennis Linton, chairman of that firm (right). The Jamaican shipment will be used to augment the output of the Palladin Corporation, one of the larger lampshade manufacturers in the U.S. Mr. Russell stated that he was particularly pleased about the venture as production of the shades was labour intensive and would require additional staff for the project."
